For Beginner: How to Create a TikTok Account - 2023

New to TikTok and eager to sign up? I'm Jessica, and in this guide, I'll walk you through the steps to create a TikTok account quickly. 

Let's dive in! If you haven't already, download the TikTok app for free from the app store. 

Once installed, open the app and tap the profile icon in the bottom right corner. Select "Sign Up." 

Choose your preferred account creation method - you can sign up with Facebook, Apple, Google, or Twitter for a quick start, or use your phone number or email address. 

I'll be using the email option. Enter your email address and tap "Next."

Create a password for your account; it must be at least eight characters long, including one letter and one number. 

Check the password strength indicator below and aim for a strong password. Tap "Next." Enter your birth date and tap "Next."

Optionally, input a nickname for your profile, which will serve as your display name on your profile and videos. If you prefer not to add a nickname, you can tap "Skip" in the top left corner. If adding a nickname, type it in and tap "Confirm." 

Your TikTok profile is now created. To customize your username, tap "Edit Profile," then "User Name." 

Delete the auto-generated username and enter your preferred one.

A green check mark indicates availability; if taken, consider adding a number or underscore for a variation. TikTok provides suggestions for available usernames below. Once decided, tap "Save" in the top right corner. 

Your new username is now set, and your TikTok profile is ready to use.
